ALL WHO KEEP RUNNING

"All those who kept running" is the story of a dark night in a seaside resort, an evening populated by anonymous bodies of which only fragments remain. Lenny Rébéré unfolds this scenario through works that are as many fragments of a nocturnal stroll oscillating between joy and anguish.

[...] In the snapshots of this evening, a short time and a long time coexist: that of a night and that of generalized free circulation and the permanent flow of images of daily life where the banal, the absurd, the historical and the explicit coexist.

As in Kôbô Abé's The Box Man, there are "all those who kept running", giving in to the liquidity of our society. The main character of the novel observes them through a slot in the box with which he has covered his upper body to protect himself from a world that is moving too fast while we join the frantic race by scrutinizing them through our screens. Some allow themselves a step aside, preferring the liquidity of the oceans and the cajoling of a sweet intoxication. This is where Lenny Rébéré tries to take us, at least for the time of a midnight swim.
